Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of various eye conditions. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Experience in pediatrics, senior care, or optical sales is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
- Diagnose and manage ocular conditions and diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and other visual aids as needed.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the use of prescribed treatments.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state optometry license to practice.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to optometry.
- Experience in pediatrics, senior care, or optical sales is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while providing exceptional patient care.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and education in the field of optometry.
