ON-CALL - Early Childhood Educator

Level 1 (Child Development Assistant) or higher (ON-CALL position)

Shift between: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Please note: There are no guaranteed hours and this position is to cover shifts when someone is ill or on vacation.

Richmond daycare is seeking an on-call Early Childhood Educator to join our team. We are a mixed-age group (19months – 6 years) Centre, located in the SW.

Skills and qualifications you have:

• Experience working with children aged 19 months - 6 years old.
• Enthusiastic, engaging and a passion for working with children.
• A flexible and positive attitude that is adaptable to change, stress, and daily challenges
• Ability to take the initiative and get things completed in a timely manner
• Must be reliable and responsible
• Knowledgeable with Early Learning and Child Care Regulation and Act
• Early Childhood Educator Certificate (minimum Level 1 or willing to obtain within 6 months).
• Current First Aid Certificate – Level C (Preferred)
• Calgary Police background check with vulnerable sector search completed within the last 6 months (Preferred - willing to obtain)

Job description

· Providing support for the Lead childcare educator

· Setting up classroom activities and materials, based on planning and observations

· Work cooperatively as a member of the childcare team, facilitating a team environment through personal behaviour, work contributions, and the sharing of expertise and knowledge

· Provide effective supervision, support classroom routines, and maintain behavioural expectations with children

· Assist children with self-help skills, including feeding, toileting, and diapering.

· Cultivating relationships with children, parents, and guardians.

· Preparing and serving meals and snacks.

· Ensure classroom or play environment is kept sanitary and implement a cleaning schedule

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
