Huronia Auto Wreckers is looking for a Non-ferrous grader and yard worker.
Training will be provided to properly identify materials in the scrap yard and to interact with customers. Prepares non-ferrous materials for transport. Both indoor and outdoor, fast-paced setting.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Must be able to sort, process, and grade non-ferrous materials
- Inspects material for hazardous waste and grades different types of non-ferrous materials
- Loads and unloads non-ferrous material
- Must be able to work safely at all times
- Be able to effectively perform tasks independently
- Performs routine housekeeping.
- Observes and reports any safety issues
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications

- Ideally 1+ years of hands-on non-ferrous metal experience
- Understand and be able to grade all non-ferrous material properly
- Metal recycling industry experience
- Experience stripping equipment and/or with manual material sorting
- Knowledge of non-ferrous processing
- Well-articulated and assertive
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, maintenance personnel and other employees of the organization
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Computer literate
