Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Technician to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking, IT support, and customer service, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN) and virtual private networks (VPN) to ensure reliable connectivity.
- Provide IT support by troubleshooting hardware, Cabling and software issues related to networking equipment.
- Monitor network performance and security, implementing necessary updates or changes to firewalls and other security measures.
- Assist users with help desk inquiries, offering exceptional customer service while resolving technical problems.
- Conduct regular maintenance on computer hardware and networking equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Document all network configurations, changes, and incidents in ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems for tracking purposes.
- Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement in network infrastructure and support processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in computer networking, including some knowledge of LAN, VPN, firewalls, and desktop support.
- Familiarity with IT support practices and help desk operations.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users.
- Experience with IT service management tools is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot computer hardware issues effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in diagnosing problems.
- Preferring relevant certifications in networking or IT support (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) are a plus point.
