NWI Precision specializes in high-precision machining of helicopter masts, turbine shafts, engine thrust links, and nuclear pressure vessel components for the aerospace and nuclear industries worldwide. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented NDT and CMM Operator to perform non-destructive testing and coordinate measuring machine operations to ensure product compliance with technical specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting precision components using NDT and CMM process, identifying defects, and ensuring dimensional accuracy, playing a vital role in our quality control and assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities: NDT (Non-Destructive Testing):
- Perform NDT inspections using methods such as ultrasonic (UT), magnetic particle (MPI), liquid penetrant (PT), radiographic (RT), and/or eddy current testing (ET).
- Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Prepare NDT reports and maintain detailed inspection records.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASNT, ISO 9712, or equivalent).
- Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to provide feedback on product quality and potential defects.
CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine):
- Operate CMMs using software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or MODUS to perform dimensional inspections.
- Program CMM machines to inspect components according to engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Analyze measurement data and prepare detailed inspection reports.
- Verify first article, in-process, and final product dimensions.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of inspection programs and procedures.
- Maintain calibration and cleanliness of CMM equipment and work area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
- Certification in NDT methods (Level II, or III as applicable) per ASNT SNT-TC-1A or ISO 9712.
- Proven experience operating CMM equipment and writing CMM programs.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Good computer skills and experience with measurement software.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality standards.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and quality documentation.
