Located lakefront in the heart of downtown Kelowna, the Kelowna Yacht Club provides our members with top-quality moorage in Canada's largest fresh-water marina. We offer an unparalleled lakeside experience featuring upscale dining, year-round social programming, and a welcoming community for all ages. Kelowna Yacht Club has been supporting boater education and safe, responsible enjoyment of Okanagan Lake since 1945. Our facility is a resource for community partners such as the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron and Adaptive Sailing Association.
Position Summary:
As a Member Services Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for members and guests, ensuring their experience is seamless, enjoyable, and reflective of our Club’s Core Values. This role is central to maintaining member satisfaction and requires a high level of customer service, communication skills, and discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome members and guests with warmth, professionalism, and courtesy.
- Respond promptly and professionally to member inquiries via phone, email, or in person.
- Efficiently process member requests, payments, reservations, and service needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records within the Club’s database.
- Address member concerns or complaints with discretion, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Perform general administrative tasks, including filing, correspondence, and reporting.
- Uphold the Club’s standards of etiquette, discretion, and service excellence.
- Provide knowledgeable and enthusiastic information about all aspects of Club life.
- Serve as an in-house sales ambassador, promoting Club memberships, events, watersports, and other revenue-generating offerings.
- Understand and adhere to all Club Bylaws, Regulations, and Policies, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Support membership recruitment initiatives and Club membership drives.
- Regularly update the Club’s website with relevant and timely information.
- Manage the Club’s key card system, including assignment, deactivation, and tracking for members, staff, and vendors.
- Monitor door access systems and security cameras, granting access in accordance with Club policy.
- Assist with additional administrative responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or a member-based organization is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and stay composed in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, and familiarity with member management software a plus.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- This position requires the ability to work in a shared office environment
- High school diploma or equivalent paired with one to three years of proven customer service focused experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a private club or hospitality environment
- Knowledge of boating, sailing, or yacht club culture
This 3 day per week part-time position reports to the Member Services Manager. Anticipated days would be Tuesday – Thursday with evening, holidays, and weekend work as required.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
