The Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver is seeking customer-service oriented people to join the member and guest services team. The successful candidate should possess strong problem-solving skills in addition to empathy, patience, listening and flexibility. This role requires someone who is able to remain calm while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Schedule flexibility is required for working day, evening and weekend shifts. If you have a minimum of two years customer service experience combined with intermediate computer skills and experience with MS Office, Google Workspace and a CRM we are interested in hearing from you.
Position Summary
The primary function of this position is to be the first point of contact for JCC members, program participants and guests of the centre. Associates will greet each person entering the building and respond to inquiries in a helpful customer-focused manner. They will also assist with all aspects of the member application process and register participants into programs.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Assist members, program participants and guests by responding to their in-person, over the phone and email inquiries as quickly as possible or direct them to the appropriate staff person as needed.
- Provide tours to potential new members and advise them of the benefits of membership.
- Advise individuals about JCC programs, services and events.
- Support department by processing member-related documents. This includes new member applications, renewals, changes to information, freezes and cancellations.
- Provide members with items required for membership such as access cards, guest passes and parking decals.
- Register people into desired programs ensuring that they are charged correctly. Sell tickets, punch cards and other items as required.
Qualifications
- Two years of relevant customer service experience
- Strong interpersonal skills including empathy, patience, listening and flexibility
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Intermediate computer skills and experience using MS Office programs, Google Workspace and any database management program (CRM).
- Excellent English language skills: verbal and written. Hebrew or alternate second language is an asset.
- Appreciation of Jewish culture and customs
