Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant/receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support in a medical office setting, ensuring efficient operations and excellent patient care. This role requires familiarity with medical terminology and proficiency in managing electronic medical records. The Medical Office Assistant will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) using systems such as Epic or Dentrix.
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Support healthcare providers by preparing examination rooms and assisting during patient procedures as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with other staff members to improve office efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office administration is a plus.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
- Previous experience in a medical office or dental office setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Experience using phone systems for managing calls efficiently.
