JOB OVERVIEW:
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring they are greeted warmly and professionally. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, scheduling and booking appointments, and managing communication with medical staff. Your role will also include handling telephone inquiries and supporting daily administrative tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly, all while ensuring strict patient confidentiality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet patients immediately and warmly upon arrival at the clinic
- Ensure the accuracy of Electronic Medical Patient Information (EMPI) prior to examinations
- Maintain and update patient electronic medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Inform technologists of patient arrivals and direct patients to appropriate areas within the clinic
- Answer telephone inquiries promptly and efficiently
- Schedule patients for appropriate exams based on physician-provided histories and ensure efficient use of technologist time
- Copy images to CDs as requested by physician offices
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Work collaboratively as part of the team to support one another with daily tasks and responsibilities to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Perform other duties as required to support the clinic's smooth operation
- Ability to work all shifts 8:00 am-4:30 pm -for vacation coverage purposes
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Medical Office Certificate, Medical Office Terminology Course, and or equivalent education is required
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and general office administration is an asset
- Proficient in computer operations and Microsoft Office Suite
- Technical savvy and the ability to learn new electronic systems and processes with ease
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Friendly and professional demeanor with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team player and willingness to support other team members and take on tasks as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Clinical setting based in Brooks, Alberta
- Daytime office hours Monday to Friday 8:00-4:30 pm (no weekends/evenings)
- Part-time 9:00 am – 3:00 pm schedule in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Light physical activity, frequent sitting and regular standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs)
