JOB DESCRIPTION:
Durham Bone and Joint Specialists (DBJS) is committed to delivering orthopedic care, within a system that provides accessibility and quality, in managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal related illnesses. Established in 2019, our team currently includes 8 orthopedic surgeons and 6 Advanced Practice Providers, who work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment to meet the growing needs of Durham region patients.
We are looking for Medical Office Assistants (MOA) to join our administrative team.
The successful candidate will work within a large group of administrative staff, supporting the coordination of assessment appointments, diagnostic imaging tests, and follow up treatment visits. The candidate will be responsible for organizing the clinic schedule for multiple providers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The MOA will support the following deliverables:
· Scheduling and communicating appointment details to patients
· Supporting arrangement of required diagnostic imaging
· Updating referring providers of patients’ assessment schedule
· Responding to inquiries by email, phone and fax
· Supporting the referral triage process
· Prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Post-secondary degree or diploma in Office Administration or recognized equivalent
· Experience working with Accuro EMR required
· Experience in a high-volume customer service position
· Demonstrate advanced working knowledge of Microsoft outlook and Word
· Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills for reporting information to patients and staff
· Superior customer service with ability to understand and meet patient and Physician needs
· Demonstrate ability to take initiative and act independently using sound judgment as well as accepting direction
