Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting patient care by performing laboratory tests and analyses that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, proficiency in phlebotomy, and experience working in a hospital or laboratory setting.
Duties
- Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples from patients
- Conduct various laboratory tests on patient samples, including blood, urine, and other bodily fluids.
- Prepare specimens for analysis and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure it is calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss test results and provide insights for patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and techniques.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
- Certification with MLPOA as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to laboratory practices.
- Experience with phlebotomy techniques and procedures.
- Familiarity with hospital or clinical laboratory environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
