Established in 1919, Fort Garry Fire Trucks is Canada’s leading manufacturer of quality fire trucks. Fort Garry Fire Trucks is looking to hire a full-time Mechanical Assembler. As a Mechanical Assembler at Fort Garry Fire Trucks you will be part of the manufacturing team responsible for reading and interpreting work orders and installing mechanical components on fire trucks, water trucks and septic trucks.
Applicant Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
- Fluent spoken and written English and good interpersonal communication skills
- Legally entitled to work in Manitoba
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds individually or 100 pounds with assistance
- Proficient in reading and interpreting basic drawings
- Skilled in drilling and tapping holes in specific locations defined by drawings
- Experienced reading work orders to thread and groove parts
- Competent in fabricating small brackets and mounting hardware
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Reliable transportation: Busing is not available at our location
Assets:
- Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are available to work both the day shift, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the evening shift, 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
