The purpose of this role is to receive and inspect incoming raw materials and to facilitate the outgoing process and distribution to appropriate areas/divisions and /or facilities for the purpose of supporting the production process. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of material throughout the plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Banding steel bundles, delivery and loading material onto equipment as required
- Weigh or stage material for shipment
- Daily saw operation, including adjusting saws to ensure spec is being held
- Cleaning areas in and around saws on a daily/weekly basis as required
- Support other departments with forklift duties as needed
- Complete daily inventory at shift start and maintain inventory on the south wall shelves
- Communicate with supervisor and set up daily to ensure needs are met
- Remove scrap from the ends of the lines and process as trained in WI
- Tag the line as bin changes are required at machines
- Receive, unload, inspect, transport, and store raw materials as delivered to plant
- Complete, process and file required documentation promptly and accurately
- Follows department standard operating procedure as well as company health & safety policies and procedures
- Safely transport raw (steel) materials within the facility using forklift
- Ensure all raw materials are labeled properly as required
- Load scrap into designated areas and track weights as per the WI
- While performing tasks, adhere to the Ontario Health & Safety Act
- Perform general (minor) maintenance duties as requested
- Run RIM (Roller Inspection Machine) when required
- Run stampers as required
- Complete daily inventory at shift start
- Maintains and upkeeps general housekeeping requirements of working area

Compensation will consist of an hourly rate, subject to additional payment in the form of company bonuses, incentives, and shift premiums.
We offer an additional vacation accrual rate above and beyond employment standards, starting at a base of 6%.

Weekend Shift Premium:
- Work 36 hours, get paid for 40!
