Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Business Operating Assistant/ Administrative Assistant to support the Marketing Department by conducting market research and assisting with various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, a friendly attitude, and an understanding of the challenges faced by new immigrants.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist managers in planning and scheduling business trips, including preparing itineraries, booking accommodations, and organizing supporting documents
- Attend off-site meetings with partners, clients, and stakeholders to provide on-site administrative and communication support
- Take detailed meeting notes and prepare clear, concise summaries and follow-up reports for internal and external use
- Assist in developing proposals, presentations, and client materials related to immigration and settlement services
- Help coordinate internal team tasks and timelines to ensure smooth project execution
- Conduct basic market or client research to support strategic planning and outreach efforts
- Translate and format documents as needed (English-Mandarin preferred)
- Maintain organized project records and ensure proper archiving for compliance and future reference
- Provide general administrative support, including scheduling, email correspondence, and document editing
Compensation and Work Arrangement
- Salary consists of a base pay plus commission on each project completed
- Flexible working hours and location to accommodate your needs
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business, Administration, Immigration Law, International Studies, Communications, or a related field
- Willing and able to travel within Newfoundland and Labrador for business purposes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Positive attitude, team player, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
