Job Title: Manufacturing Cost Analyst & Estimator

Position Summary
As a Manufacturing Cost Analyst & Estimator in our Finance department, you will support operational decision-making by analyzing production costs and preparing accurate cost estimates for new and existing products. This role ensures cost efficiency and plays a key role in budgeting, forecasting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Customer & Product Understanding
- Review and understand customer requirements and scope of the product being provided.
- Compare the proposed product against similar previously manufactured products, identify any anomalies, and utilize your critical and creative thinking abilities to identify cost saving opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Liaise with internal stakeholders from various departments while representing the manufacturing group to gather costing information pertaining to the detailed fabrication of our products and transform that information into a preliminary process and cost estimate.
- Liaise with Purchasing and obtain costs for all required components, prepare the most accurate cost estimate possible for the most cost-effective solution and present the finalized solution to Finance for pricing.
Process & Financial Analysis
- Thoroughly vet and assess proposed manufacturing processes from a financial and technological perspective.
- Compare and analyze actual to estimated costs of completed products, identify and document the root causes of any discrepancies, and apply lessons learned to future estimates.
Qualifications
Education and Knowledge
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics (or related) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and additional work experience
