QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from a 2 year CSNM Accredited Program in Food Service and Nutrition Management or Bachelors degree with a major in Foods and Nutrition or equivalent.
- Three (3) years Nutrition or Food Service experience or supervisory experience in a Health Care setting.
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial ability
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in employee and labour relations
- Demonstrated experience in initiating changes and improvements, including skills in workplace re-engineering within a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) environment
- Ability to prioritize in a changing environment
- Sensitivity to the human and political dynamics of health care management
- Strong organizational, decision making and problem solving skills

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager Nutrition Services shall be accountable to the Manager, Community Health Services (Regional Nurtrition Services) and is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, evaluation and operation of the Nutrition Services at designated sites within Prairie Mountain Health.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overview:
- Responsible for the safe administration and operation of Nutrition Services at designated sites throughout Prairie Mountain Health.
- Monitors appropriate financial, human resources, equipment and environmental issues of Nutrition Services at designated sites within Prairie Mountain Health.
- Oversees the development of policies and procedures related to Nutrition Services at designated sites.
- Instrumental in the planning and development of a sustainable program.
- Participates in portfolio/facility/regional team structure.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance of Workplace Safety and Health, Infection Prevention and Control, Hand Hygiene, Regional Policies and other educational requirements for all staff under their supervision.
- Develops and maintains functional relationships with other departments/programs.
- Plans for continued professional development of staff and self.
- Promotes positive public relations.
- Operationalizes Prairie Mountain Health’s Vision, Mission and Values statements.
- Promotes the quality dimensions of access, safety, effectiveness and satisfaction in the provision of Prairie Mountain Health’s services.
