  • Develop and manage annual program budgets, including tuition pricing, instructor payroll, and production expenses.
  • Plan, direct and execute year-end performances (dance, Israeli Dance, and music).
  • Organize and manage registration and participation in competitions, workshops and shows (including outside Greater Vancouver).
  • Procure costumes, equipment, materials and supplies.

Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that reflects Jewish values and community-building.
  • Create and manage publicity (collaborating as needed) including distributing print and digital materials to community organizations, schools, and retail locations.
  • Collaborate with other JCC departments and external partners/programs on cross-programming and special events.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication with participants and parents/guardians (includes schedule changes, upcoming events, individual needs and progress, etc.)
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador for the JCC’s performing arts vision within the broader community.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Performing Arts, Arts Administration, Education, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (studio management, arts education, program management, artistic direction, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge and passion for dance, music, and/or theatre, with an ability to support all three areas.
  • Up-to-date on the trends in performing arts programs and arts events in Vancouver.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience managing staff and coordinating multiple programs simultaneously.
    • Customer service oriented with experience facilitating communication with youth and parents.
  • Ability to multitask with ease.
  • A team player, eager to collaborate on JCC wide programming.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and Jewish community values.
  • Schedule flexibility (available some evening and weekends for programs and events).

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with Jewish cultural arts and/or experience working in a Jewish communal setting.
