HDCPA Professional Corporation is a fast-growing professional accounting firm, that specializes in assurance and compliance services for reputable clients across North America. We're an approved training office with CPA Ontario with a pre-approved assurance program. We are currently recruiting an Audit and Assurance Manager to join our team. In this role at HDCPA, you will be a senior leader in our audit team—responsible for managing complex audit engagements from planning through completion. You will also play a key role in developing high-performing junior staff, maintaining strong client relationships, and upholding the highest standards in regulatory and professional practice.
We’re looking for a CPA with a strong background in audit, managing people, and a desire to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Engagement Management
- Lead audit, review, and compilation engagements across a portfolio of clients, particularly in high-growth industries including crypto and technology.
- Lead other assurance engagements in the asset-based lending and sustainability reporting sectors.
- Supervise and review work performed by Senior Associates and Junior staff; provide coaching and technical guidance throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Execute audits in accordance with IFRS, ASPE, US GAAP, CAS, US GAAS and PCAOB standards as applicable.
- Manage deadlines, budgets, and staff allocations across multiple concurrent engagements.
- Client Service & Technical Expertise
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client communication and resolution of technical issues.
- Provide practical, solutions-oriented advice to clients on current business and financial conditions, including audit risks and regulatory matters.
- Review and finalize engagement files, working papers, and financial statements, ensuring compliance with firm standards and quality management system.
- People Leadership
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
- Deliver real-time feedback and support the professional growth of team members through formal and informal coaching.
- Firm Growth & Innovation
- Contribute to the evolution of HDCPA’s audit methodology, particularly for crypto-native business models and sustainability reporting.
- Participate in internal training initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Help identify business development opportunities through excellent client service.
Qualifications
- Canadian CPA designation (mandatory)
- Minimum 5–7 years of audit experience in a Canadian public accounting firm (mandatory)
- Strong technical understanding of IFRS, ASPE, CAS, and related audit standards (mandatory)
- Strong technical understanding of US GAAP, US GAAS and PCAOB audit standards (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience working with Canadian reporting issuers
- Previous experience with Canadian corporate taxes
- Proficiency with Caseware & other audit tools, and with Microsoft Excel

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
