About the Role
Stirling Marathon is seeking a hands-on, reliable Maintenance Technician to support ongoing repair and improvement projects in our refrigeration factory. This is a casual/contract position, ideal for a semi-retired tradesperson, skilled handyperson, or someone simply looking to stay busy with meaningful work in a supportive, industrial environment. You’ll be working on a variety of mechanical, structural, and utility-related tasks that keep our operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Building assembly jigs
- Build mobile racks and carts
- Set up surface grinder to sharpen tooling punches
- Adjusting conveyor belts
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair assembly stations, strapping machine, roll up door, docks, air compressor
- Reinstall air-line
- Rebuild or repair skids holding tooling
- Install air hose/nozzle and air lines where needed
- Replace weather stripping
- Plus other odd tasks
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven mechanical aptitude or general maintenance experience
- Problem solver
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Ability to diagnose and fix common facility issues
- Electrical, welding, fabrication, or light machining experience is an asset
- Familiarity with industrial equipment and compressed air systems is a plus
- Must be reliable, self-directed, and safety-conscious
Terms of Employment
- This is a casual position, with work offered as projects and needs arise
- Flexible hours: schedule can be arranged to suit both parties
- Compensation to be discussed based on experience and availability
