XCEED Machine Works Inc., is a leading distributor and service provider for ROOTS Blowers, Gear Drives, Process Pumps and packaged equipment systems for industrial, mobile and municipal applications in Western Canada. We are currently looking for a certified JOURNEYPERSON (Manual) Machinist with Red Seal endorsement to work in our Chilliwack B.C. facility. This is a challenging opportunity to work with and learn from a knowledgeable and experienced team of professional trades personnel.
Brief description below;
- Manual lathe machining & milling machine operation to repair or produce refurbished PD blower and pump components
- Monitor the correct feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Review blueprints and specifications, plan the machining process, utilize the correct tooling and order materials for the job
- Demonstrate ability to organize, plan and execute daily workload to successful completion
- Safely operate forklift and overhead crane with heavy rigging experience
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers
- Measure, examine, and inspect completed component parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers
- Provide consistent quality workmanship according to specifications with minimal waste or rework. Ensure each job component has a quality control check
- Perform preventative maintenance on machine tools in defined area of responsibility
- Follow the COR Certified Safety Program ensuring that all jobs are compliant with Xceed HSE program at all times.

Skill based 4th year apprentices with a demonstrated background of hands on equipment repair and good academic performance are welcomed to apply.
