Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Machine Operator to join our team, focusing on our busbar workstation.
In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, punching, forming, and insulating metal busbars according to engineering drawings and specifications.
We provide comprehensive training on our equipment and processes, making this an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and mark metalwork according to engineering drawings and work orders, ensuring accurate measurements and layouts.
- Operate iron worker to cut and punch busbars to specified dimensions, maintaining precise tolerances.
- Sand and polish busbar to remove imperfections.
- Operate the NC bender to form busbars into complex shapes, ensuring adherence to drawing specifications.
- Apply heat shrink insulation to busbars, ensuring proper coverage and protection.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Perform ad hoc duties as requested, such as assisting with machine maintenance, material handling, quality control inspections, or shop cleanup.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in working with machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (training provided).
- Experience with hand tools and power tools is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Team player with good communication skills.
