We Are Looking For:
We are looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join our dedicated team on the afternoon shift (Monday-Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:00am). This role will work out of our 87,000 sq. ft. facility located in Puslinch, ON.
Please note the afternoon shift is 10 hours, 4 days/week and our facility is not accessible by bus.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of industrial machines and shop equipment as required (Saws, drills, brake presses, etc.)
- May operate material handling equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts
- Read blue prints to determine scope of work
- Observe machine operations and periodically verify conformance of parts to specifications using micrometers and verniers
- May need to periodically work outside in all weather conditions
- General duties as required
- Maintain a safe and clean work area as well as work as efficiently as possible
- Work in a safe manner in accordance to legislation and Company policies. This includes working in required PPE (Steel toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years' hands on experience working with industrial equipment. Previous saw and/or drill experience considered a strong asset
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing/machine shop environment
- Must be able to accurately read blueprints
- Must be able to accurately use measuring tools
- Previous experience using hand tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Capable of standing for extended periods of time
- Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Possess a positive attitude and work well in a team oriented environment
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment, continually adapting to change and work under pressure
