Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Assist in menu planning to create nutritious and appealing meal options.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
- Collaborate with dietary aides and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional food service.
- Cater to special dietary needs and preferences of clients or residents.
- Utilize knife skills effectively for meal preparation and presentation.
- Provide excellent customer service while serving meals to guests.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and fine dining service.
- Knowledge of menu planning, catering, and meal preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Excellent knife skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Experience in restaurants or other food service settings is an asset.
