Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Lowboy Operator to transport heavy equipment safely and efficiently to various job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of loading, securing, and hauling oversized loads while complying with all safety regulations. Driver will also be expected to perform basic maintenance checks on the vehicle and assist with loading and unloading freight as needed.
Duties
- Safely operate and drive a lowboy trailer to transport heavy equipment.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate logs and trip records.
- Load and unload equipment safely, ensuring proper securement.
- Plan and follow the best routes while adhering to transportation regulations.
- Communicate effectively with Foreman and other site personnel.
- Assist in basic automotive repair tasks as needed to keep the vehicle in optimal condition.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven experience as a lowboy operator, field test may be required.
- Valid Class 1 driver's license and clean drivers abstract is required.
- Strong knowledge of local traffic and transport laws and safety regulations.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment for loading and unloading.
- Knowledge of automotive repair is a plus for maintaining vehicle functionality.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
