K&D Logging is looking for a Logging Supervisor to join their team in Grande Prairie, AB.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
For this leadership role – K&D is looking for an experienced professional in the logging/forestry industry with the proven ability to lead and motivate a team; demonstrate excellent problem solving and project management skills; with expert written and oral communication skills which would be supported by iPad, laptop, and smart phone technology. This position will also have a strong work ethic and appreciate the remote/camp shift work environment.
Duties (include but are not limited to):
- Day to day supervision of all on-site activities ensuring that best practices are being followed
- Plan and schedule shifts for crew
- Organize phases on a daily basis and ensure that everyone is clear regarding plan
- Ensure K&D Logging’s log quality meets or exceeds customer expectations
- Manage day-to-day human resource issues - including mentoring and/or discipline – as required. *Liaise with your Manager and the HR department regarding HR issues
- Ensure the worksite is safe and meets Government regulatory, Customer and Company requirements pertaining to safety and environmental standards
- Submit weekly phase tracking reports, complete and accurate
- Submit up to date camp numbers and availability
- Host safety meetings with crew recorded and submitted on K&D Logging’s safety meeting form submitted to Ops manager
- Work with Operations Manager to ensure that customer requirements are met with regards to safety, quality control and environmental impact
- Ensure you have a good understanding of the contractual relationship with our Customer for each project.
- Manage the responsible use and care of company vehicles and equipment to minimize down-time and present a professional, safe image for K&D Logging.
- Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to order appropriate parts for repairs as required
- Ensure you have a sound understanding of the Company’s Safety Management System and that it is fully implemented within your area of responsibility
- Instruct staff on safety, recognize unsafe work conditions and modify work procedures
- Ensure you understand and adhere to all applicable safety regulations
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate must have 5+ years’ experience in the Logging / Forestry Industry with 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- Possess a good work ethic
