As a Lock Shop Coordinator, you will provide specialized lock and key services to The City of Calgary. You will be responsible for maintaining The City¿s Master Key systems, physically change locks, cut keys, and pin lock cores, ensuring security integrity for City sites. Primary duties include:
- Create pinned cores and create physical keys that operate the cylinders.
- Design and maintain complex Master Key Systems.
- Register and track keys and cores, document key holder information and door/building information.
- Assign access levels to staff.
- Co-ordinate service requests from business units with contract locksmiths.
- Track service requests and invoices.
- Advise clients using specialized knowledge of institutional locksmithing techniques and practices.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED) and at least 3 years of related security experience including 1 year of locksmithing experience.
- Knowledge of Keystone Master Key software and Master Key Systems is required.
- Experience keying small format interchangeable core (SFIC) locks will be an asset.
- An intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) along with the ability to enter data in an accurate and proficient manner.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, and no current suspensions or charges pending.
- Strong communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions: This position works inside the lock shop with occasional visits to client sites.
