Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Line Cook / Prep Cook with formal culinary training and verifiable Canadian kitchen experience to join our dynamic back-of-house team. The ideal candidate is passionate about Latin flavours, thrives under pressure, and is eager to be part of a high-volume, high-energy kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute consistent and timely preparation of menu items, following standardized recipes and plating specs
- Perform daily prep work including sauces, proteins, and accompaniments according to kitchen prep lists
- Set up and stock stations with necessary ingredients and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards at all times
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries; monitor inventory rotation (FIFO)
- Support team members during busy service hours and contribute to a collaborative kitchen environment
- Communicate clearly with chefs and management regarding quality, timing, and any production issues
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (grill, flat top, salamander, Rational oven, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Culinary Arts from a recognized Canadian culinary institution (mandatory)
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in Canadian commercial kitchens (experience will be verified)
- Strong knife skills and understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen procedures
- Food Handler Certification (Alberta Health Services or equivalent)
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Latin cuisine is a strong asset but it is not required.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
