Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Operator to join our team in Vernon, BC. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating excavators, skid steers, and dozers, along with a strong understanding of general excavation practices. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, and dozers safely and efficiently.
- Perform excavation work for foundations, roads, retaining walls, septic systems, demolition projects, and more.
- Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure safe operating conditions and minimize downtime.
- Interpret site plans and instructions to ensure accurate and efficient completion of tasks.
- Collaborate with the team to coordinate daily operations and resolve on-site challenges.
- Assist in guiding or supervising less experienced operators or laborers when necessary.
- Follow all company safety procedures and regulatory requirements on job sites.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating excavators, skid steers, and dozers.
- Experience in general excavation, including foundation work, road construction, septic system installs, retaining walls, and demolition.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to take initiative and support crew members.
- Additional equipment experience (e.g., rock trucks, compactors, loaders) is a strong asset.
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license is considered a major asset.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to jobsite safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
