Seaco Marine Inc. is Canada’s Dock Company, with over 25 years of experience designing, engineering, building, and installing innovative dock systems across the country. We're looking for a Lead Hand to join our team and play a key role in overseeing daily shop operations and supporting field installations.
Position Summary
The Lead Hand is a working supervisor who leads our shop team, coordinates daily tasks, and acts as a key link between crew members and management. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a hands-on approach to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard—both in our facility and occasionally on job sites.
Core Responsibilities
- Team Supervision: Direct and support shop employees to ensure safe, effective task execution.
- Daily Coordination: Plan and delegate tasks, manage timelines, and help keep projects on budget.
- Safety Oversight: Promote and enforce a safe working environment; ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
- Communication: Serve as the main point of contact between team members and management.
- Training & Development: Onboard new staff and provide coaching to build team capability.
- Performance Monitoring: Track team performance, offer feedback, and report outcomes to leadership.
- Inventory Management: Monitor materials, tools, and inventory to ensure readiness for all tasks.
- On-site Work: Assist with dock installations at client locations when needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, ideally in a trades or construction setting.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator with both verbal and written skills.
- Ability to motivate and guide a team in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Technical knowledge of dock systems or marine construction is an asset.
Requirements
- Class 3 Truck Licence (Required)
- Boating Licence (Required)
- Willingness to work outdoors and on-site when necessary
- Ability to lift and carry materials as part of day-to-day operations

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
