Splendid Landscape Services Inc. is accepting applications for a part-time Supervisor/Groundskeeper/Landscaper working 20 hours, or more, per week. This individual will perform a variety of tasks related to supervision, horticultural and grounds maintenance. This position can become full-time, with the completion of a 3-month probation.
Start Date: Immediately Salary: Starting at $25.00/hour
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Shall either hold current BCLNA certifications, or shall have successfully completed an apprenticeship, a recognized horticulture diploma or degree, or journeyman trade qualification.
- 3-5 years of horticulture and supervisory experience (Lawn Maintenance, Hedge and Shrub Trimming, Plant knowledge, Pruning)
- Proficient operation of machinery and tools in a safe and efficient manner, such as a lawnmower, hedge trimmer, weed whacker, leaf blower, and ladder. Able to train employees in same.
- Holds a valid B.C. Driver's License and is able to drive a truck and trailer.
- Knowledge of the materials and methods used in both horticulture and other related trades.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively, using courtesy and tact, in the explanation and exchange of information with both clients and employees.
- Ability to determine, judge and select an appropriate course of action within the limits of established methods and procedures.
- Physical ability to perform the required duties, including the ability to lift and handle heavy equipment (25-50 lbs) with safety and care.
