Job Summary: As a Skilled Laborer in Civil Pipe Work at Argus Excavating you will play a crucial role in supporting our construction and installation activities for various civil pipe work projects. Your expertise in pipe work and construction techniques will contribute to the successful completion of our projects while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Pipe Installation: Assist in the installation of pipes, culverts, and drainage systems according to project specifications and blueprints.
Excavation and Trenching: Assist in performing excavation and trenching activities to prepare the site for pipe installation.
Pipe Fitting: Cut, thread, and assemble pipes and fittings as needed, ensuring accurate measurements and adherence to project requirements.
Utility Locating: Utilize utility locating equipment to identify and mark the locations of existing underground utilities to avoid damage during excavation.
Material Handling: Safely transport and handle construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from the work site.
Quality Control: Assist in quality control inspections to ensure that all pipe work is completed to meet industry and company standards.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the construction team, equipment operators, and supervisors to ensure seamless project execution.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs and material usage reports.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in civil pipe work or a related field is required.
- Proficiency in using pipe cutting and threading tools.
- Familiarity with excavation and trenching equipment.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
