Job description
Reliable, hardworking person to work in the railway material sales industry as a labourer. Must perform physical labour and be outdoors for long periods of time. Heavy lifting required. Must have a valid driver’s license. Railway material experience an asset but not required. We will train the right candidate. There is room for advancement for the right candidate.
Working Conditions:
· Regular shifts Monday to Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm, with occasional over-time hours
· Working outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions
· Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, overhead work, lifting/carrying up to 70 pounds
· Exposure to heat, cold, water, fumes and loud noise
Duties:
· Build material orders as directed by Foreman
· General site and yard clean-up
· Load and unload shipments
· Operate company vehicles as per safety standards
· Operate yard equipment including forklifts & loaders
· Use of hand and power tools
· Parts pickup and delivery
· Determine condition of material for wear and/or defects
Requirements:
· Valid driver’s license
· High School diploma or equivalent GED
· Good verbal, reading comprehension and writing skills
· Demonstrate good teamwork and maintain positive interactions with others
· Commitment to workplace health and safety.
