EMSL Canada is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Materials Science) in Mississauga, ON No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. Experienced analysts are welcomed to apply.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Preparation and analysis of combustion byproducts using PLM (Polarized Light Microscopy), RLM (Reflective Light Microscopy), and/or TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy), and all ancillary quality control procedures
Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
Generate analytical reports and enter data into LIMS system
Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
Administrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phones
Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science or related science is required
Light microscopy, optical mineralogy/petrographic microscope training preferred
Some Laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting
0 to 1 years’ experience using PLM/TEM/PCM and or RLM a plus
Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude
Effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance
Ability to travel for training to another EMSL location either to U.S. and/or Canada

Available Shift:
Position is full-time, Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
