Analysis of Health Care Data
Compensation
Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.
Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $22.07 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2024)
Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $34.73 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2024)
In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
Duties
Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. Under the direction of the course instructor, the incumbent is required to teach and assist students during the lab sessions, keep attendance and grade lab reports, quizzes and home assignments, proctor exams held in lab or lecture, and any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor. Regular meetings with the course instructor are required.
Qualifications
An undergraduate degree in Health Sciences or related discipline is required.
Demonstrated competency in secondary data analysis of clinical, administrative, or population health survey data.
Experience using the R programming language for statistical computing is required (experience with SAS, SPSS, Python, Matlab or Stata is an asset).
Prior experience in statistics lab facilitation is an asset.
The successful applicant must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students and provide constructive feedback, be punctual in attending classes, and be able to meet appropriate deadlines.
Experience or training with synchronous and asynchronous course support.
Experience with online delivery tools and learning management systems (MS Teams, Brightspace, Lifesize, etc.)
Available online or in person to provide student feedback.
