Math and English Assistant position
We are currently looking for a part-time professional, dynamic, responsible and a team player for the advanced math and English assistant position. This position is ideal for a candidate who can commit four shifts per week. The available shifts are 3.00 pm to 7.30 pm on Mondays through Thursdays.
Please apply only if you are available for the above shifts and can commit a minimum of one year.
Responsibilities
Guide students in the advanced level of English and Math
Assisting early learning students ( preschool to grade 1)
Mark students' homework and classwork.
Guide younger and new students in the Kumon program.
Organizing students' folders for their classwork and homework.
Specific training in class will be given to the right candidate who can work with Early Learners.
Skills Required
- Enjoy teaching/working with children
- Customer service oriented
- Have strong English reading and writing skills( may require to write a test)
- Have a good command of English grammar concepts
- Have knowledge of advanced math ( up to grade 12 or 1st-year of university)
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of English phonics (sounds)
- Have strong organizational skills and be able to multi-task
- Show good, positive work ethic
- Learn quickly
- Be willing to learn the Kumon method and if you are a Kumon program completer, then it's an asset.
- Be consistently available at least twice a week – Mondays through Thursdays (3:00 pm – 7:30 pm)
- Can commit for a minimum of one year
- The position is ideal for University students, but it's open for all the suitable candidates.
- Speaking Korean language is an asset.
