Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and innovative Knowledge Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for managing organizational knowledge, ensuring that information is effectively captured, organized, and made accessible. This role requires a strong understanding of data management principles, information architecture, and the ability to leverage various technologies to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration across the organization.
Duties
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge management strategy that aligns with business objectives.
- Create and manage ontologies, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies to facilitate effective information retrieval.
- Utilize semantic web technologies such as RDF, OWL, and SPARQL to enhance data interoperability.
- Oversee the implementation of content management systems (CMS) like Drupal and Adobe Experience Manager for efficient content development and management.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform knowledge management practices and improve user experience (UX).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and ensure alignment with information governance policies.
- Manage databases using SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Neo4j, and other relational or graph database technologies.
- Analyze data structures and develop data models that support knowledge management initiatives.
- Implement analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Tableau to measure the effectiveness of knowledge resources.
- Facilitate training sessions on knowledge management practices and tools for staff members.
Skills
- Proficient in ontology development, semantic web technologies (RDF, OWL), SPARQL querying, and graph databases (Neo4j).
- Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL) and database management principles.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and JavaScript for scripting tasks related to data processing.
- Familiarity with content strategy concepts including content development, copy editing, SEO techniques, keyword research, and web analytics.
- Knowledge of information architecture principles including metadata management, data governance, records management, and usability best practices.
- Proficiency in using project management tools like Jira for tracking progress on knowledge initiatives.
- Ability to utilize design tools such as Figma or Balsamiq for wireframing user interfaces (UI) related to knowledge systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for informed decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on collaboration across various departments.
