Nestled in the the border of Carp and Kanata, 1818 farm 7 cidery is a new organic farm and cidery dedicated to sustainable agriculture, community, and exceptional food. Our kitchen specializes in fresh pizzas and seasonal dishes made entirely from ingredients grown on-site or sourced locally. We’re not just opening a restaurant—we’re cultivating a way of life.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated Cook to join our founding team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the culinary identity of a farm-to-table restaurant from the ground up. With no executive chef, our cooks are leaders, collaborators, and stewards of the land. You’ll work directly with farmers, cider makers, and fellow cooks to create a menu that evolves with the seasons and celebrates the harvest.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh pizzas and seasonal dishes using fresh, organic ingredients from the farm and local partners.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and refine a rotating, ingredient-driven menu.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness in a fast-paced, open kitchen environment.
- Take initiative in kitchen organization, inventory, and prep systems.
- Lead by example and foster a respectful, team-oriented kitchen culture.
- Engage with the farm and cidery team to understand the ingredients and contribute to a holistic food experience.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional cooking experience, preferably in farm-to-table or wood-fired kitchens.
- Strong knife skills, cooking techniques, and a deep understanding of seasonal ingredients.
- Passion for sustainable agriculture, local food systems, and community-driven dining.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively without direct supervision from a head chef.
- Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to get your hands dirty—literally. Interest in farming, foraging, or cider-making is a big plus.

Contract length: 5 months
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
