Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Kitchen Lead Team Member to join our team. As the Kitchen Leader, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and service meet our high standards of quality and safety. You will be responsible for food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and providing exceptional service to our customers. This position is flexible weekday hours, no evenings or nights and very few weekends required.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for food preparation tasks such as but not limited to; chopping, cooking, dough making, pie production, assembling dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Use of commercial kitchen equipment such as electric dicer, electric meat tenderizer, meat slicer, food processor, mixer, dough sheeter.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment and utensils are sanitized and stored properly.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations to ensure the health and safety of our team and customers.
- Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed and minimizing waste.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Collaborate with management to develop menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Supervise part time kitchen staff/co-op students, fostering a positive team environment and promoting collaboration
- minimal front of house required such as answering phones, use of POS system, customer order processing and cash handling to cover lunches/breaks
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is required.
- Strong cooking skills with knowledge of various food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
- Basic math skills for inventory management are essential.
- A strong understanding of food safety practices.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team motivation and development.
- Experience in pie making not required, but is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
