Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will support kitchen operations by assisting chefs and ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of food preparation and service that our establishment is known for.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste.
- Support chefs during meal service by providing timely assistance with food plating and presentation.
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Follow all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in training sessions to improve culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.
Skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards.
- Willingness to learn new cooking techniques and kitchen procedures.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting heavy items.
