Job Summary: The Janitorial Worker is responsible for janitorial duties and will follow all Lighthouse Policies & Procedures including the Occupational Health and Safety and Fire Code. This position will have specific facility-related responsibilities related to Community Services and Supportive Housing buildings. The Janitorial Worker reports to the Partnerships & Operations Director.

Responsibilities:
- Perform indoor cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc.
- Support outdoor janitorial activities, including garbage, windows, and waste management.
- Perform cleaning in coordination with the Facilities Operators and volunteers.
- Utilize standardized cleaning agents.
- Assist with inventory, monitoring and managing janitorial supplies.
- Model expected behaviors related to work standards, customer services, respectful workplace, and time management.
- Assist with cleaning requests and input completed work as directed.
- Host volunteer training sessions to perform janitorial duties, ensuring they are equipped to independently maintain cleanliness and uphold facility standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- An acceptable combination of education & experience is an asset.
- Being comfortable working in outdoor elements, with cleaning agents and following proper guidelines is essential.
- Required to wear proper PPE and follow safety protocols.
- CPR/First Aid Certification is an asset.
- WHMIS Certification provided during training.
- Comfortable and willing to properly learn the use of all cleaning equipment.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check is required.
- Able to handle heavy loads (50lb+) and repetitive tasks.
- Able to manage a large workload.
- Ability to deal with a diverse population with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to handle a physically demanding job.
- Willingness to work outdoors/indoors.
- Ability to work as a part of a team and be self motivated.
- Decision making and problem-solving attributes.
- High standard of integrity, judgment, and confidentiality.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize.
- Experience in environmental services would be an asset.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.70 per hour
