The Organization:
A.E.W. LP was formed in 2017 by Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council member communities to carry out “on the ground” work related to archaeology, the environment and wildlife protection. This work has been made necessary by activities of others within the Nlaka’pamux homeland including transportation, mining, forestry, oil and gas, and utilities projects. The Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council is not opposed to development within our homeland, but developments and activities must be consistent with Nlaka’pamux title and rights.

- Annual salary range of $90,000 – $103,000

The Role:
A.E.W. Limited Partnership (A.E.W. LP) is seeking an on-going full-time Intermediate Geoscientist based out of beautiful Kamloops, BC. The individual will provide environmental support to decision making policy and process in relation but not limited to mining activities and provide expert opinion in support of the review of geoscience related activities within the Nlaka’pamux Homeland. Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, the Intermediate Geoscientist will:
- Assist the A.E.W. team in completing Environmental Assessments in one or more of the following areas: hydrology, hydrogeology, contaminated sites, water quality, or geochemistry.
- Supervise and support numerous field projects including surface water and groundwater sampling.
- Ensure mining operations are within compliance with various permits and regulations.
- Assess soil and water chemistry and compare it to applicable provincial and federal guidelines ands regulations.
- Create and update various Environmental Management Plans, particularly related to the mining industry.
- Provide technical support to proposed industry and projects within the Nlaka’pamux Homeland.
- Assist the team with permit application, amendments, and compliance as it relates to the mining industry.
- Provide qualified professional services in one or more environmental disciplines.
- Provide field support for environmental programs when needed.
- Provide mentorship to junior employees
- Complete site visits or inspections to ensure standards or recommendations have been implemented.
- Responsibilities will vary depending on experience.
Requirements:
- University degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Geology or related field.
- Must have a designation or immediately eligible for a professional designation (P.Geo, P.Eng, P.Ag, P.Chem, RP Bio).
- At least 4-8 years’ working experience in environmental consulting, mining or similar industry.
- Possess a current and valid driver’s License.
