As a HW/SW Reliability Engineer in the NI-IP Organization, you will be responsible for the Reliability of product design of the latest developments. This position requires self-starters who can manage the detailed Reliability review of complex HW/SW product designs. You will work with highly motivated teams of engineering professionals and have personal responsibly to drive your Reliability tasks, communications and reports through the process.
What you will learn and contribute to
- Reliability Support for development of IP products
- Carry out regular tasks such as generating products' Failure rate/MTBF data, product useful life estimates, and field data reports
- Perform Availability/Reliability modeling (e.g. Markov chains Models) to evaluate and forecast the performance of products at the device, module, system, and node levels
- Estimate and/or investigate failure rates of components, modules, and cards to assess any potential deviations from Nokia’s reliability standards
- Manage and maintain tracking of Nokia NI product/device field failures
- Perform failure modes and effects analysis and reporting, at the device, module, card, system and node levels
- Interact with HW and SW designers to develop and validate the applicable Reliability models and provide design improvement recommendations
- Manage and maintain Products Predicted Reliability data based on Bills of Material (BOMs) and HW/SW products field reliability data
- Respond to customer Request for Proposal /Quotation
Your skills and experience
- Engineering degree in applied science or related field with associated work experience (5-10 years)
- Proven knowledge and ability to create FMEA/FMECA analysis and Reliability modeling
- Exposure to SW reliability concepts
- Exposure to HW and/or SW design concepts and practices
- Experience with scripting and other software coding languages is required, e.g., creating macros with Microsoft Office tools or creating SQL programs to store or pull data
- Exposure to the various Communication/Telecom protocols with a special focus on IP technology and standards for voice, content delivery, and data (L1 to L4 protocols)
- Excellent personal, organizational and time management skills
- Can work with minimal supervision & balance / prioritize workload
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
