About the Role

As our Human Resources Manager, you’ll play a central role in shaping the employee experience across TRUE’s growing workforce. You will lead HR programs spanning recruitment, onboarding, compensation, performance, and apprenticeship management. In this role, you’ll also partner cross-functionally to support the Payroll team, lead the development of a Total Compensation Strategy, and contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at workforce efficiency and performance.

This is a hands-on, strategic opportunity for an HR leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to make a meaningful impact in the construction and trades industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Partner with hiring managers to attract and hire top talent across field and office teams.
  • Manage job postings, interview coordination, offer letters, and onboarding programs.

Employee Lifecycle & Engagement

  • Oversee and continuously improve programs related to employee experience, performance reviews, engagement, and retention.
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers with professionalism and care.

Performance, Culture & Development

  • Facilitate performance cycles, 1:1 check-ins, compensation reviews, and employee development plans.
  • Lead culture-building and employee recognition initiatives aligned with TRUE’s values.

Apprenticeship & Workforce Programs

  • Manage SkilledTradesBC administration, ensuring wage progression, training tracking, and compliance.
  • Act as the HR point of contact for apprentices and coordinate with training institutions.

Payroll Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with the Payroll team to ensure timely and accurate processing of compensation changes, new hires, promotions, and terminations.
  • Support reconciliation of hours, benefits, and leave data between HR and Payroll systems.

Total Compensation Strategy

  • Design and implement a Total Rewards framework that aligns compensation, benefits, and recognition with organizational goals.
  • Lead market benchmarking and internal equity reviews to support fair and competitive pay practices.

Strategic Workforce & HR Planning

  • Partner with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that enhance manpower planning, field productivity, and overall performance.
  • Use data and insights to drive process improvements, optimize resource allocation, and support scalable people practices.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain and improve HR policies, documents, employment agreements, and digital records.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation, industry standards, and internal policies.

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience; construction, trades, or project-based industry experience is a strong asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (CPHR designation or candidacy preferred).
  • Proven success managing full-cycle HR responsibilities, with strategic involvement in compensation, workforce planning, and team development.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using HRIS tools (e.g., BambooHR), Microsoft Office, and a general comfort with digital platforms.

Why Join TRUE?
