Position Description: Housekeeping Room Attendant
Come join our fun! As a 111-room boutique hotel we have a team that works closely together on a daily basis. Be more then just a member of the department, be a part of the OSI family. We are currently seeking individuals to join our team as Housekeeping Room Attendants. We have both part time and full-time positions available for the right candidate.
Our Room Attendants maintain the quality of guest room and public space cleanliness according to standards, policies and procedures as established by the housekeeping department. We ensure that all guest requests are honoured while being hospitable to guests, providing assistance and answering questions to enhance guest`s visits at the hotel. Room Attendants also communicate room deficiencies to management and maintenance department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
- Some written and oral communication skills.
- Previous housekeeping experience is an asset, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Must be able to provide criminal reference check.
- WHMIS and/or First Aid training an asset.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL:
- Physically fit to endure lifting, stretching, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs.
- Maybe exposure to certain weather while cleaning outside rooms, i.e. heat, snow, rain.
- Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals, such as, but not limited to, general purpose disinfectant, glass cleaner, furniture polish, carpet stain remover etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To prioritize room cleaning assignments in order to complete rooms in most efficient manner for guest satisfaction and to meet check-in deadlines.
- To maintain clean hallways, including vacuuming, cleaning mirrors and windows.
- To adhere to the lost and found procedures as established by Old Stone Inn management.
- To adhere to policies and procedures as determined by Management and/or Housekeeping Department of the Old Stone Inn.
- Room cleaning, includes but is not limited to:
- Stripping rooms of garbage and used linen and terry
- Making beds
- Cleaning and disinfecting tubs, toilets and sinks
- Flushing Jacuzzi and whirlpool tubs
- Dusting furniture including, desk, dresser, TV, armoire, wardrobe, etc
- Stocking amenities, towels, condiments, coffee, tea, etc.
- Cleaning coffee stations
- Vacuuming and washing floors
- Cleaning mirrors and windows
- Maintain an orderly cart and closet
- Keep inventory control of beverages provided in the guest rooms. As well as reporting usage as per the policy set forth by the Old Stone Inn management.
- To complete deep cleaning/project cleaning/special assignments such as preventative maintenance and carpet stains.
- To maintain a well-kept work area including, but not limited to hallways and public spaces. Which includes maids’ carts and returning those carts to a closet or room when not in use.
- To ensure the Old Stone Inn health and safety and emergency procedures and practices are followed.
- To participate in daily team meeting.
- Any other duties as assigned.
