POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Community Home Care Manager this position is responsible for providing house cleaning services to the clients of the program and adhering to precise procedures and standards involving a high degree of accuracy in observing, recording, and reporting data.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Grade 10 education
- Prefer 2 – 3 years related cleaning / homemaking experience
- Experience working with indigenous communities/people considered and asset
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
REQUIREMENTS
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, with results acceptable to WFN
- Valid Driver’s Licence and acceptable driving record
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality and uses discretion on all matters relating to the affairs of the Westbank First Nation.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILTIES
- Performs home management tasks including but not limited to: dusting, vacuuming, mopping, laundry, cleaning the refrigerator/stove, running errands, and other cleaning duties such as bathrooms, etc.
- Assists clients with the preparation of meals as required and provides a safe, clean environment in the home
- Understands and follows the client care plan developed by the RN and client/family; Respite care can be assigned
- Reports unsafe conditions, changes in the client’s physical or mental behavior, or changes in the environment to the Community Home Care Manager
- Uses personal protective equipment such as gloves/masks
- Completes activity sheets neatly and accurately by following the client care plan and submits the activity sheets on a weekly basis
- Transportation – grocery shopping, medical appointments
- Demonstrates respect for the rights, dignity, and self-worth of all clients, family members, and co-workers at all times including the responsibility for establishing and maintaining worker/client boundaries
- Is flexible and innovative in all approaches at providing a high quality of care
- Maintains satisfactory attendance
- Completes required monthly/annual in-services as directed
- Maintains strict confidentiality of information gained during the course of duties and on all matters relating to the affairs of the Westbank First Nation
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Westbank First Nation policies, standards and procedures, and as directed by the Community Home Care Supervisor

The median salary for this position is $47,793
