Home Support Workers play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance. The successful candidate will provide compassionate care and support to a client residing in their own home. The ideal candidate will assist to improving the well-being of those they serve, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Monitoring health conditions and reporting any changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure compliance with medication schedules.
- Ostomy care
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to hygiene standards.
- Assist individuals with disabilities in their daily routines, promoting independence and dignity.
Skills
- Meal preparation and understanding dietary needs.
- Experience in patient care, with a focus on empathy and compassion.
- Knowledge of case management practices to support client needs.
- Familiarity with home care protocols and best practices.
- Ability to administer medication safely and accurately.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in client environments.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
