UNIONIZED POSITION
Temporary Full-Time – 40 hours per week
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position reports directly to the Public Works Supervisors and will perform related work as per the job description.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Graduate of a recognized educational program accredited by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador for equipment operation.
- Must possess a minimum of Class 3 with a Class 8 and current Class 9 Air Brake endorsement.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the operation of heavy equipment is required.
- Any combination of education and experience may be considered.
SKILLS
- Equipment includes those specifically equipped to carry out the business of the Town including rubber tire backhoe, tandem and single axle trucks equipped with or without plow and wing; loader with or without plow and wing; and equipment used for curbside recycling; and be willing to be trained to operate other equipment that may be required, or available, in the Department.
Applications must include a copy of official educational documents confirming education requirements. The successful applicant must provide acceptable Certificate of Conduct and Drivers Abstract prior to commencement.
