We are seeking a full-time experienced handyman.
We are looking for someone with strong organizational and language skills, a keen eye for detail, and someone looking to dedicate themselves to building a career with us.
We want someone with a very well rounded skill set to work on projects from start to finish within a strict time frame. You will be responsible for various renovation tasks, including framing, millwork installation, drywall and taping repairs, painting, demolition and general renovation/constructions duties. Fit and finish skills will be of extreme importance for this position and will be one of the most critical components of the evaluation process.
This is a hands-on role that requires proficiency in using both hand tools and power tools. If you have a strong attention to detail and enjoy working on diverse projects, we encourage you to apply.
You will...
- Install and finish various types of interior trim, including baseboards, crown molding, wainscoting, and window/door casings.
- Skillfully install kitchen and bathroom cabinets, ensuring proper alignment, levelness, and secure attachment.
- Install finish fixtures, grab bars, towel bars, paper holders, accessory hooks.
- Hang doors, install door frames, and fit and install windows with precision,
- Craft and install custom woodwork elements, such as built-in shelving, cabinetry, and other decorative features,
- Assess and perform repairs on existing walls as needed.
- Work closely with other construction professionals, including contractors, and designers, to ensure project specifications are met.
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and quality control throughout all phases of the construction process from demo to final finishes.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Accurately record and maintain relevant paperwork.
- Ensure work meets quality control standards.
- Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Have excellent problem-solving skills.
- Participate in a safe work culture.
- Report concerns and safety hazards to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Comply with all standard operating procedures and policies of The Renovators of Canada.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the site supervisor.
