Position Overview
The General Manager will be the driving force behind San Vito Bakery’s daily operations, team culture, and customer experience. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with proven management experience in hospitality, food service, or retail who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of bakery operations, from staffing and scheduling to financial management and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of staff, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and hospitality.
- Oversee daily bakery operations, ensuring smooth workflows, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Manage staffing: recruit, train, schedule, and coach employees to maximize efficiency and morale.
- Ensure every product leaving the bakery meets our high-quality standards.
- Drive sales and profitability through strong cost control, labor management, and waste reduction.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience, handling escalations with professionalism and care.
- Monitor inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to maintain seamless supply.
- Create and implement operational systems that promote efficiency and consistency.
- Report directly to ownership with updates on financials, staffing, and business performance.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve service, streamline operations, and grow the brand.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in hospitality, food service, or retail.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and hold a team accountable.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze financial reports, and control operating costs.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- A customer-first mindset with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace health regulations.
