Overview
Backstreet Concrete Inc. is seeking motivated and dependable General Labourers to join our team. This role involves assisting tradespeople, preparing and maintaining job sites, and ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with concrete formwork, pouring, placing, and finishing.
- Load, unload, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform site preparation including digging, grading, and cleanup.
- Support carpenters, concrete finishers, and rebar installers.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and work effectively as part of a team.
- Comply with all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Carry out additional labour duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous labour or construction experience is an asset but not required (training provided).
- Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn new skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
- Familiarity with construction tools, equipment, and safe work practices is an advantage.
Work Conditions
- Outdoor job sites in various weather conditions.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
- Overtime or weekend work may be required depending on project needs.
